All the 'Black-Americans wanting reparations.. They would have to buy the land or give them part of the dessert. But all of them could be given a mule to work that land. especially Obama. He should have 2 mules.

Read this article, "Obama takes new swipe at Founding Fathers ahead of America’s 250th birthday: 'Deep flaw'", https://www.foxnews.com/person/d/ashley-j-dimella#&_intcmp=fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-header_3_1_ashley-j-dimella, and while Obama is right, our founding fathers did have a slavery flaw, so did the vast majority of the world at that time. At the same time, we as a nation we took steps to address that flaw with emancipation, and when that did not work a civil war. I'm not suggesting that fully solved or eliminated the issue because the truth is, Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it", is as true today as it was when it was first written. At the same time, blaming the past for present sin is not just a lie, it's become a central prop of the democratic party that they leverage for support they do not deserve. No one that I know or talk to has ever claimed that our founding fathers were perfect, and the answer for them is the same as for us, salvation. John Newton who wrote the hymn "Amazing Grace" was a slave trader before he got saved and fought for the abolition of slavery in England. Liberal humanistic socialistic ideology with reparations, the core of the democratic platform, is not the answer.

Note to Bill Ackman--Rent control in NYC will limit the ability of landlords to maintain their properties. That gives the Mamdani minions all the reason they need to seize the properties.

Tucker Carlson, MTG, and Nick Fuentes--The Republican Party will not miss you. Sad that Tucker has taken such a strange turn.

Catholic nuns face legal harassment for not using preferred pronouns

A law in New York violates the 14th Amendment.

https://wapo.st/3RbMtch

To care for the dying poor: That was the mission Rose Hawthorne Lathrop had in mind when she established a congregation of Catholic Dominican sisters in 1900. The Servants of Relief for Incurable Cancer are still working, now out of Rosary Hill Home, a 42-bed nursing facility in Hawthorne, New York.

What will happen in the 2026 midterms? Sign up for Margin of Victory

The sisters see their work as part of the “healing ministry of Christ,” and they dedicate their lives to their founder’s goal: to make whoever crosses their door feel as “comfortable and happy as if their own people had kept them and put them into the very best bedroom.” The sisters offer palliative services free of charge. They accept neither government funding nor insurance.

What a simple and beautiful mission. But it’s not good enough for bureaucrats in Albany. The sisters have received three letters from the state’s health department, in effect, explaining that they’re not complying with provisions of a “Bill of Rights for LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers” that Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) signed in 2023.

The text stipulates that long-term care facilities must use patients’ preferred pronouns, even when they’re not present; defer to their choice of bathroom; and refuse to assign rooms based on biological sex. Staff must also undergo “cultural competency” training.

All of this would violate the sisters’ consciences, yet failure to do so could cost them thousands of dollars in fines, loss of licensure and even imprisonment. When their request for an exemption went unanswered this spring, they sued the state in federal court.

The Justice Department joined the litigation on their behalf this month, and its filing makes a strong case that New York ignores the 14th Amendment’s equal protection clause. “States should take notice that they cannot require Americans to abandon their religious beliefs in the name of woke gender ideology,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon. The state law offers exceptions based on “any professionally reasonable clinical judgment” but none for religious reasons.

This episode is another example of lawmakers searching for villains where there are none. Hochul said her law is meant to ensure “hate will never have a place in New York.” But what does she think is hateful about these sisters?

The nuns note that their Catholic faith “affirms the inherent dignity of each and every human person.” They explain in their suit that “people who struggle with their gender identity deserve compassion, sensitivity, and respect.” At the same time, the sisters say they cannot deny someone’s God-given sex, which would “affirm another religious worldview.”

Notably, none of their patients have even asked them to do so. The health department has received no complaints against Rosary Hill, according to the suit. Nor has it sanctioned the facility at all in the past five years, an anomaly among its peers.

In other words, just as no employee was ever asking the Little Sisters of the Poor to offer contraception under the Affordable Care Act, no transgender patient is demanding that the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne use their preferred pronouns.

What, then, is the point of all this legal harassment? The answer, as ever, seems to be politically motivated virtue signaling. The letters from the state read like an effort to bully anyone who doesn’t accept the culture’s prevailing orthodoxies on sexuality.

The governor might relish a legal fight with the Trump administration in an election year, and her health department isn’t relenting. That’s too bad. It would be better for everyone if the state spared itself inevitable embarrassment in court and let these sisters care for the dying poor in peace.

I remember when the Ten Commandments was posted in every public and private school in the USA....with no hesitation!

Read this article, "Supreme Court rules on Trump's attempt to fire Fed governor Lisa Cook", https://www.foxbusiness.com/person/m/amanda-macias, where SCOTUS missed it again, foiled again by a lack of common sense and logic, or an overactive agenda. Federal Reserve members are appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. That fact alone established two arguments against this ruling. 1) The Federal Reserve is not truly independent. Terms may be designed to encourage continuity but that is not a guarantee of job security. 2) The person responsible for hiring must always retain the authority to fire someone. The president who appointed someone does not have greater authority then the president who follows him. Presidents have considerable authority to shape the nations economic performance and denying them the ability to shape the Federal Reserve is forcing them to operate with one hand tied behind their back. To put it more bluntly this ruling makes it more difficult for one president to recover from the mistakes of another. Finally, none of the justices addressed the "for cause" removal power of the president in there arguments, at least to the extent they made this article.

Removing God was the start of the decline in youth behavior, as far as I'm concerned. That and giving them everything they wanted, without earning any of it.

Read this article, "Supreme Court rules on mail-in ballots received after Election Day", https://www.foxnews.com/person/s/robert-schmad#&_intcmp=fnc_politics_article_main-content_article-header_3_1_robert-schmad, and is it just me or have all nine judges gone brain dead. I read what was in the article, both for and against, and no one mentioned the postmark "time and date stamp". While some of the issues raised in the "arguments" have merit of there own they have nothing to do with the actual case. Just because votes are counted after election day is does not follow that the election was not decided "on election day". What matters is that all votes are cast on election day, and that means mail in votes must be postmarked no later then midnight of election day. This satisfies every requirement and always has but for those whose real interest is to cheat. So, are all the judges stupid or did they intend to leave the door open for bags of ballots that "appear from no where" and "somehow" never made it to the post office to get stamped by midnight of election day. Another example of where SCOTUS could (and should) have put this away in favor or fair and honest elections but instead they handed the criminals a path toe stuff the ballot box. There is no one who feels the need to mail their ballot who cannot be responsible for getting it to the post office by midnight of election day, anywhere in the world.

Thank you so much for the mention of Mel Brooks' birthday and the referenced story. He truly is a mensch and his movies were so much fun. Blazing Saddles is as funny today as when it came out. It's so nice to hear that someone with as much talent as he has is also down to earth!

WHY in this day and age, do we have a "BLACK" Caucus? Shouldn't we start a WHITE Caucus? Maybe an Asian Caucus? Or, how about a BROWN Caucus since most of Central and South America are here? RACISM will never end and continue to fester until WE stop teaching it to the younger generation.

dave allen's avatar

normal for us humans to get together with those of similar circumstances or interests. and they have a noble cause - ensuring that blacks have the opportunity to succeed. i would just say that based on the condition of blacks in all (D) cities, they're doing a really shitty job.

"If you want to love America, drive through it." maybe the quote of the YEAR. too bad the people who NEED to drive through it are stuck in LA or NYC traffic, listening to the "news" on their radios (or electronic devices).

Do you think they would still hate it? Or just have more to complain about?
